Life at Hillcrest

Boarding House

We do have a good boarding house. Parents are encouraged to use this if they live outside Calabar. There is a matron and a sit-in night teacher in the boys' hostel.

Safety and Security

At Hillcrest College, the security and well being of our students and pupils is of utmost importance to us. For this reason we have well trained out-sourced security outfit that patrol the schools' perimeter both day and night.

Extra-Curricular Activities

At Hillcrest Schools, we recognize that not every student’s forte lies in academics; nothing wrong with that once it is recognized. The many icons today did not necessarily excel in academics e.g., Richard Branson, David Beckham, etc. We therefore encourage the students to join clubs and engage in sports. That way they will spread themselves and gradually find out where they excel.

The extracurricular programme is also designed to expose the students to the real world. There are a number of clubs set up by the schools to encourage students to make proper use of their leisure time. These include:

  • JETS Club for those who are science inclined
  • Maths Club for those who love numbers
  • Baking Club oh! The aroma each Friday of cakes!
  • Conservation club for those who care about the world.
  • Craft club for those good with their hands.
  • Dance club for those that love dancing.
  • Drama club for those who dream of going to Nollywood!
  • Tennis club.
  • Scrabble/Chess club
  • Man-o-war club.
  • Singing club.
  • Debating club.
  • First Aid.
  • Reading.
